2000meter.no

Welcome to 2000meter.no. This portal is aiming at becoming a rich website covering everything related to norwegian summits of 2000 meters or higher. The first basic version was released on october the 20th 2009, and during 2010 lots of additional functionality will be added. In addition to that, whats already there might be adjustet a little bit.

Some of the things to come is a wiki part, possibilities for user editing and with time an application to keep track of trips and ascents, connected to the peak database.

In spite of a connection with Glittertind Forlag that publish the book "Norges Fjelltopper over 2000 meter", this portal is a non commercial project based on idealism. All information is open and free, but text and images may not be published or exploited commercially without a written permission.

2000meter.no is a sub portal to www.fjelltopper.no, a free and independant resource center for everything related to peaks and mountains, without any goegraphical or linguistical limitations.

Are you interested in being a part of the team from the beginning? As an editor or administrator. Do you have some favourite mountains you know particularly well? Could you imagine being a "godfather" for those and even have a say in the development phase of the project.
